Pathways Prom
AN INCLUSIVE PROM EXPERIENCE
Pathways Prom is an inclusive Prom experience designed specifically for students with disabilities or special needs in their final year of high school.
Every student deserves the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with their classmates. Pathways Prom creates a welcoming, supportive environment where students can enjoy the magic of Prom in a setting designed with accessibility, comfort, and safety in mind.
This event is organized by Prom Night Canada in collaboration with educators, families, and community partners who share the goal of ensuring every student has the chance to celebrate graduation.
A PROM DESIGNED FOR ACCESSIBILITY
Pathways Prom is thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure that everyone can participate comfortably.
The event includes:
- A daytime celebration designed as a school field trip
- Fully accessible venue spaces
- A DJ and dance floor experience tailored for the audience
- Quiet and sensory-friendly spaces
- Onsite support staff and volunteers
- Accessibility accommodations
- Opportunities for students to take photos, dance, and celebrate with friends
Every element of the event is carefully planned to create an environment where students can participate at their own pace and in a way that feels comfortable to them.
A COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
Pathways Prom brings together students from across the city to celebrate a shared milestone.
Schools attend as part of a supervised field trip, allowing students to celebrate alongside their peers in a safe and supportive environment. Teachers, educational assistants, and support staff play an important role in making the day memorable for students.
Families often tell us that this is a celebration their child never expected to experience. Pathways Prom ensures that every graduating student has the opportunity to take part in this special tradition.
